Welcome to our website!
Salvador Sanchez Middle School houses sixth, seventh, and eighth graders from Hueco, Hilley, Escontrias, Rojas, and Desert Wind elementary schools. There are approximately 900 students enrolled.
Our campus is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and was named a recognized school by the Texas Education Agency in 2004 and in 2007. We attribute that recognition to the hard work of our faculty and staff, who are well experienced at focusing the energies of our students.
By creating interesting projects, our teachers instill the love of learning in our students, while preparing them for the demands of high school. Our exploratory middle school program allows students to take a variety of courses.
In addition to the core curriculum, our students are offered electives in choir, band, art, mariachi, orchestra, and theater arts. With the assistance of teachers and counselors, Sanchez eighth graders develop a graduation plan that reflects our students needs and their interests. Our students participate in a wide variety of extra curricular activities and sports programs. Among our extended day activities are student council, National Junior Honor Society, and UIL. Football, basketball, track, tennis, volleyball, cross country and cheerleading are offered to seventh and eighth grade students. Sixth grade students may participate in Pep Squad or community based programs after schools.
