Sanchez Middle School embraces Collaboarative and  Cooperative Learning wherein groups  of students engage in positive interdependence,  individual accountability,  interpersonal skills, face-to-face  interactions, and critical thinking.

Group learning promotes  communication, trust, leadership, decision making, and conflict resolution.  Our campus embraces ongoing opportunities to maintain a positive and productive atmosphere, meet individual students' needs, and stive for excellence.  We expect great things from one another.

Our campus is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and was named a recognized school by the Texas Education Agency in 2004 and 2007.  We attribute that recognition to the hard work and dedication of our faculty and staff, who are well experienced at focusing the energies of our students.

By creating engaging projects, our teachers instill the love of learning in our students, while preparing them for the demands of high school. Our exploratory middle school program allows students to take a variety of academic and extracurricular courses.

In addition to the core curriculum, our students are offered electives in choir, band, art, mariachi, orchestra, and theater arts.  With the assistance of teachers and counselors, Sanchez eighth graders develop a graduation plan that reflects our students' needs and their interests. Additionally, our faculty in engaged in a campus-wide mentorship program for at risk students.

Our campus is the recipient of the Hewlett Packard Leadership Grant for 2006-7 and 2007-8.
