Students at H.D. Hilley Elementary school are helping the community this Thanksgiving season. The Earth Angels Environmental Club has joined forces with Communities in Schools and is organizing a canned food drive to benefit the West Texas Food Bank (WTFB) and area families. The WTFB loaned the Earth Angels five barrels, which can hold approximately 200 to 250 pounds of food each. H.D. Hilley Elementary has set a goal to fill 5 barrels, which would equal 1,000 to 1,250 pounds of food for the needy.  To date, a total of 1017 non-perishable food items have been collected! The food drive ends on November 18, 2009. Way to go, Mustangs!
