Escontrias Elementary

 TEA Exemplary Campus

At Escontrias, we will continue with that extra degree because there are NO BOUNDARIES in reaching student success!

At 211 degrees, water is extremely hot. At 212 degrees, however, water begins to boil. With boiling water comes steam, and with steam comes enough power to fuel an engine, a locomotive – even a ship! That extra degree, that extra effort, is the difference between being great and just being good. It's an amazing concept that everyone can appreciate and relate to on many levels. After all, the difference between a gold and silver medal performance is often a mere fraction of a second.

  Congratulations

Mrs. Estrada

Escontrias Elementary

2009-2010 Teacher of the Year

Mrs. Estrada is very proud and honored to be 2009-2010 teacher of the year of the best school in the valley, Escontrias Elementary.  She would like to express her sincere appreciation to all of her colleagues for their nomination.  Mrs. Estrada believes that the key to success is to approach every day like a new beginning for her and her students.  “Having a positive attitude, believing in my students, and working with my colleagues has made a world of difference for me!  I love being a teacher.  Everyday I choose to make a difference in my student’s lives.” Mrs.  Estrada has very high expectations for her students.  She motivates them by building confidence on themselves so that they can believe they can overcome any obstacle and be successful throughout their education.  She inspires them by saying; “Believe in yourselves.” Mrs. Estrada considers that parental involvement plays an important role in student’s learning.  She thinks that it is the foundation for student’s success.

Thank you,

Mrs. Calderon and Mr. Lopez,

This month, the Counseling Department will be focusing on respect. Our students will learn about this trait through the use of videos, guidance lessons, and community presenters. Please assist us by talking to your child at home about our important trait of the month.
